Why I Started My Own Business At Home:
As a stay-at-home mom with a husband in the ministry, I really needed to add to the family finances. I wanted to remain a stay-at-HOME mom, so the idea of having my own business really appealed to me! However, I didn’t want to take my kids to day care every day. I didn’t want to have to ask a “boss” to take the afternoon off to take my kids to the park or to the doctor! I also wanted an income that I determined based on the effort I put in—not based on what a company determined my worth to be. I guess I was pretty picky because I also wanted to work with other people and not be stuck at a computer all day. And I’d already tried direct sales which was very lonely.
When I lined up all of my “work wants” it was easy to see that aligning myself with a good network marketing company was the best option. Even though I’d been in “sales” before, I never really saw myself as a “pushy” sales person type and most network marketing companies are sales driven. So, what to do? Well, an amazingly classy friend of mine approached me with the network marketing business that was a perfect fit for me. This friend was not at all your stereotypical NWM junkie who came to cram her business down my throat. On the contrary, she simply shared with me what was helping her make $1000 plus a month and let me try the amazing products for free! I was very intrigued! The product line was top notch, and I thought to myself, “This stuff will sell itself when I let people try it!” Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened.
I have so enjoyed working from home and sharing with people what has brought me both fulfillment and success. I have a flexible schedule, and I get to be my own boss. The financial gain has been just one of the many perks! I’ve overcome obstacles and learned how to better work with people. I can honestly say I am a better person for taking on a home based business. Nothing that comes with rewards is free. I’ve definitely worked hard to gain success in my business. I’d be leery of any business that said I’d have success without hard work! My business is part of my balanced life, and I have been so thankful for the opportunity it’s given me!
