Why on earth would anyone want to blog? This is the question I asked my husband when he started coming home telling me all about the "posts" on peoples' blogs he'd read and the comments he'd made on those said blogs. I was thinking, "How does someone have time to write or even read these things?" I have often thought that I must be the busiest person on the face of the earth with three kids, a home-based business, and a ministry to teen-aged girls. The thought of having my OWN blog simply escaped me.
Well, now I am coming around to the idea. I have been a member of facebook for about a year, and I do see advantages of that. As a self-proclaimed "super busy," one thing that gets left out a lot is a sense of community. Although there is no substitute for "live" conversations and "face time" with my friends, I am starting to see a place for blogging and facebooking. I mean, when I am up at midnight and have a discussion running around in my head, I really don't think my girl friends want to participate in that when they'd rather be asleep! I've long been fond of email for that very reason.
So, here is the beginning of my blog. It may be simply a high tech journal which is fine by me. However, if it can offer something to someone else down the road, that would be great as well!
